Acne Problems Pimples

Avoiding acne problems pimples and blemishes is a very serious concern of most teenagers. There is very little that can be done to affect the flood of hormones that trigger the cascade of events that result in adolescent acne. However, there are some things you can do to minimize the damage.

No one is free from succumbing to acne blemishes as a teenager. Though the complications can begin quite early, and those of any age can get pimples, those caused by adolescent hormones are among the most distressing of teenage transformations. However, for those with acne problems pimples are a passing concern that must simply be endured with a minimum of permanent damage.

Don’t pick at it

Acne Problems Pimples If there was a single phrase that could describe the wisest words about acne care, “don’t pick at it,” would be that phrase. It seems almost impossible for teens to avoid messing with pimples, under the idea that they must be expressed. That friends recoil in horror at the sight of a “white-head” doesn’t help matters.

Skin that is already distended with a bacterial infection only risks physical damage and the very good possibility that the infection will be spread even further. Either way, healing is not encouraged and it often causes spreading of the bacteria, especially as acne are opened up on the skin.

Don’t irritate your skin

Some very common “remedies” employed by teenagers is to use oil-cutting scrub pads or otherwise harsh exfoliants to treat the oil build-up that is only partly responsible for causing acne. In fact, most such treatments actually make the problem worse, even if the pads are soaked with something proven useful against the offending bacteria such as benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

There are some simple things you can do that don’t include rubbing, scrubbing or otherwise poking at your face. Some times the use of something as simple as a sulphur rinse can make all the difference. Generally, keeping a healthy, balanced diet with proper nutrients with regular exercise is the most effective way of getting your skin back in balance.

Treating more severe acne

Some people get acne well into adulthood or experience the more severe, cystic types of blemishes. The most common is when staph bacteria infect a hair follicle, creating a very large and deep type of pimple. It is doubly imperative that these are not poked at while buried deep beneath the skin’s surface. Of all acne problems pimples such as these can spread far under the skin and cause scarring when the infection does finally rise to the surface.
