Diet and Skin Health
Diet and Skin Health and diet and skin care are large topics. Strange enough,
dermatologists rarely talk about it. On this web page I will tell you things
that will give you new thoughts and new hope of a cure with diet for skin disorders and
for finding a proper basis for good skin care. Virtually all skin problems are influenced by diet,
and diet should be taken very seriously when it comes to establishing skin health.
First an analogy to illustrate what diet and skin health has to do with each other:
When a fish is sick, you treat the water,- right? Anyone who has
a fish tank or an aquarium knows this.
Every cell in the body is a fish in the aquarium we call the body.
When a cell is sick, it is right to tend to its chemical milieu,-
the water (70% of the body weight/volume). It has to be changed
and replaced continuously in order to keep the cells healthy, just
like the water in the aquarium must be renewed continuously for the
fish to remain healthy. Unattended, the water will end up with an acidic pH,
and there will be overgrowth of harmful microbes. The problem is the stagnant,
acidic water,- not the microbes, but when the microbes populate the fish tank in
larger quantities, they eventually kill the fish. Microorganisms are of all sorts,
from bacteriae to fungi and onwards to viruses and parasites.
So you see,- the water in the aquarium is the milieu into which all the
wastes from the metabolic processes in the fishes accumulate, and that is the reason
why it must be replaced continuously.
This is a perfect picture or analogy for what happens in the body, and a frame of
reference for the understanding of why diet and skin health, and diet and skin
diseases are so closely linked.
With the ingestion of water and alkali (read minerals/vegetables) in proper amounts, the milieu can be
kept so pure that there will be no room for diseases to arise. This
includes even the serious diseases. And those diseases that have manifested will simply
disappear.
Different foods produce different metabolic wastes or by products when
eaten, and metabolized by the cells. Most foodstuffs in the Standard American Diet
are acid forming. The exceptions are the vegetables and some fruits.
Nearly all of these produce alkaline by-products. And this is part of the reason why they
are so healthy, and prevent diseases from arising, and cure diseases when they
have started developing or have got a strong grip on the body.
A disease is the bodys reaction to the chemical milieu of the body. The problem are
the acids. Skin diseases are no exeption to this rule.
Diet and water intake is therefore of paramount importance when it comes
to the skin in particular, and the body in general.
What is the best approach to diet and skin health?
Most people are not ready to stick to a vegetarian diet, but most people are
able to take some supplements from nature to accomplish the desired end results,
a perfect acid alkaline balance. To ingest some healthy substances is a small
challenge when you look at it from the perspective of what one actually
accomplishes in terms of healing fom virtually any disease.
The book "The pH-Miracle
" by Robert O Young and Shelley Redford Young is highly
recommended reading for those who would like to eliminate their diseases once
and for all by applying some simple and effective products and dietary prinsciples.
And the products they have developed to help people effectively regain their
health are also highly recommended. Anyone interested in diet and skin health will find invaluable resources, like books and supplements by clicking the link.
