Discoid Dermatitis: Treatment Options
Discoid Dermatitis or nummular dermatitis is an eczema that affects mostly adults of middle age. It comes in coin-shaped patches or plaques of redness and scaling on the skin. Nummular dermatitis most often affects the legs and buttocs, but it may appear on any part of the body. It involves itchiness and oozing of the area, if not treated properly.
It is chronic and recurring.
The coin-shaped red plaque is scaly and can begin to swell or become irritated without any treatment. With treatment, it still may take time to heal. Even after treatment the area can leave a visible spot.
