Genital herpes manifests as clusters of small vesicles that burst and leave the skin or mucus membrane susceptible to secondary bacterial infections and crusts in the genital area. Though in most cases the Herpes Simplex 2 virus causes no major health hazards apart from the lesions and the inconveniences, and the inability to engage in intercourse when affected, but in some rare cases, the Herpes Simplex 2 virus has also been known to cause cervical cancer.
