Pimples on the Penis

The rather common appearance of pimples on the penis can horrify the average man. No matter how quickly some types of penile blemishes heal, it is never soon enough.

While penile blemishes can be indications of very serious problems such as sexually transmitted disease, they are usually simple zits that just happen to appear on the most sensitive skin on your body. While it is very reasonable to be cautious about proceeding with any unprotected sex until you know for sure. If pimples on the penis are found to be simple blemishes, you’ll want to treat the symptom as soon as possible.

Of all the embarrassing places…

Pimples on the Penis Like anywhere on your skin, you can get regular acne or a slightly more serious infection by Staphylococcus aurues bacteria that are usually just called staph. These are always present on the skin, though the strain your skin cultivates may be more or less active than others.

Such bacteria may infect the hair follicles anywhere on the body producing a swelling and infection whose size depends upon how deep the infection penetrated. For instance, it is the same organism that causes very small zits on the penis to form under the skin. Large abscesses should be seen by a physician to avoid scarring on such delicate skin.

Making sure it’s not STD

Often the smallest pimples are the most worrisome because they can resemble some very nasty sexually transmitted diseases such as herpes or syphilis. When the pimples seem to form something of a rash, as opposed to individual pimples, it is advisable to seek the advise of a doctor. In most cases, such rashes can be explained away as heat rash, contact dermatitis or allergies.

Such outbreaks can be especially disturbing because pimples on the penis often erupt as a response to skin irritation such as that brought on by very frequent or long-duration sex. It is always good to be safe rather than sorry if you think you may have an STD, but it is good to know that most such infections eventually clear up on their own.

Quick treatment

In the case of cystic acne on the penis, it is often best to use a warm, moist cloth to help draw the infection to a head. Poking or prodding at the pimple is ill advised, as this is often painful in addition to greatly increasing the chances of further skin irritation and spreading the infection. Allowing even large pimples on the penis to drain on its own is imperative. The whole cycle must be followed, even if the warm compress can help pimples on the penis cycle through a little faster. Tamanu oil will always be of great help!
