Types of rashes
This is not a comprehensive elaboration on all
different types of rashes. Volumes of books would be needed for that. Some of the more
usual ones are listed and described, and included are
some hints on treatement.
I have added a page on Types of skin rashes to complete this project.
Skin rashes may appear for a variety of reasons,
and present themselves in many forms.
Some of their causes are:
allergies
reactions to chemicals,
reactions to medicines,
reactions to the sunlight,
viral rashes,
bacterial rashes,
psychological causes,
psoriasis
eczemas
fungi, including yeast

Diagnosis
There are many different types of rashes. If you notice
a red or itchy patch appearing somewhere on your body
it will be useful to know what type of rash it is. Don't be
tempted though, to trust your own diagnostic skills. Experience
is needed, as the manifestations of the same disease may vary from individual to individual.
Diagnosing a rash may therefore be very difficult, and often requires
examination of the entire body, sometimes even blood tests and biopsies (samples from your skin).
A visit to the doctor’s office is always the solution to ensure
correct diagnosis and most effective treatment for most types of rashes.
If you notice a rash developing on any part of your body,
you naturally want to get rid of it because it is unsightly,
it usually itches and is physically, emotionally and even socially
uncomfortable.
Symptoms
Skin rashes have all kinds of presentations, but the
most common types of rashes include red, itchy bumps or scaly patches of
red itchy skin covering parts of or the entire body,
or red, itchy, scaly patches isolated in certain areas
that are of either fungal or bacterial origin. The patches may
be small or big, be concentrated in certain areas or spread out
as conglomerates of solitary elements, localized in special areas
or be spread out on larger parts of the body, or covering the whole body. When you have viral or bacterial illnesses resulting in skin rashes,
your general state of health may be reduced with fever and pains
in the body and the skin as well.
